I really enjoy writing and producing songs. There are two styles I write and record for, one is electro, the other acoustic, the latter in collaboration with a vocalist, drummer and guitarist. We make up an ensemble called Five Colored Clouds.

 

For electro, I’ve developed a low-fi, analogue style. I use this style on angelic pads creating symphonies that merge and flow, interacting and competing. My production techniques include rerecording through old speakers and reamping to produce a warm, low-fi feel.

For my acoustic side, it’s very much low-fi and analogue as well, allowing the vocalist headroom, reinforced by shimmers of symphonies, with low beat drums and haunting electric guitar, the bass deep and present. I prefer sounds to feel spontaneous, just recorded, but quite famously amongst my friends, I spent six months developing an electric guitar sound just for one song.

Having worked in audio and events, I’ve come to love the thrill of the show, from the load-in to stage setup to sound check to live and then pack-up. I’ve been fortunate to meet and work with some great teams, and had the opportunity to talk with some really experienced engineers. 

I’d describe myself as a hard working reliable person.
